Is an evidence based Finnish Physiotherapy and Active Rehabilitation protocol that concentrates on neck, shoulder, lower back and knee problems.

A decade ago, bed rest was recommended as standard treatment, whereas now, an active approach is known to be more effective. DBC works on the concept of Active Muscle reconditioning programme.

The DBC concepts are recognized by medical doctors, specialists, insurance companies arond the world. DBC clinics are located all over Europe, the United States, Middle East, South Africa and Asia Pacific regions.

Gopalakannan Jayaraman

GOPALAKANNAN JAYARAMAN has 20 years of clinical practice specializing in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of a wide variety of acute and chronic Neurological, Musculoskeletal, Geriatric conditions as well as Sports Injuries.

He has been with DBC Kuching since 2012 and is Head Physiotherapist. He was formerly with DBC Klang and Ampang for 3 years as a Senior Physiotherapist where he obtained evidence based experience in applying the DBC Protocols for patients having Neck, Shoulder, Back, Knee, Ankle and Sports injuries.

Prior to that Gopal was attached for 9 years to GMC, Trichy in India in the ICU Cardio-respiratory Disease Department and Out-Patients Department.

Gopal completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy BPT in Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai, India and Master of Physiotherapy MPT (Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy) in Vinayaka Mission University, Salem, India. He is also certified in Orthopedic Manual Therapy COMT –Mulligan concept from Capri institute of Manual Therapy, Delhi, India.

He completed his Kinesio Taping Course KT1, KT2, KT3 and KT4 and is a fully Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner of the CKPT. He is also holds a Schroth Best Practice –B Certificate from the Schroth Best Practice Academy, in Jakarta, Indonesia. Apart from that he is also a Certified Practitioner in Dry Needling CDN, having obtained his certificate from APTER Institute, Bangalore, India.

Gopal holds a life membership with the Indian Physiotherapy association (MIAP) and is also a member of Malaysian Physiotherapy Association (MMPA).

Nakkiran Muthusamy

Nakkiran Muthusamy has 12 years of cumulative experience in the field of Physiotherapy and is currently a Senior Physiotherapist at DBC Kuching since 2016. Piror to this he was also a Senior Physiotherapist in DBC Klang, Malaysia.

Nakkiran formerly worked as a Consultant Physiotherapist at East coast hospitals (Speciality Centre) and Sai Krupa Hospital, Pondicherry, India and has trained and worked under Robotics Team as a Neuro-Rehab therapist in Apollo Main Hospital, Chennai, India.

Along with the application of DBC Concepts for Musculoskeletal Dysfunction, he also deals with assessment and management principles for patients with Sports injuries, Neurological disorders, and Cardio-Pulmonary as well as Geriatric conditions.

He completed his Bachelor Degree of Physiotherapy from Annai Theresa Institute of Paramedical Sciences College, Salem. [Affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University] Chennai, India and also obtained his Diploma in Yoga from Annamalai University, Chidambaram, India.

He is a Certified Manual Therapist with Mulligan Concepts to treat Spine and Extremities from Capri Institute of Manual Therapy, Delhi, India and is also a Certified Kinesio Taping (KT1 & KT2) Practitioner.

He is a lifelong membership of Indian Physiotherapy Association (MIAP).

Lorraine Sambah

Lorraine Sambah has been with DBC Kuching from its inception in 2010 and has 10 years of extensive experience treating musculoskeletal conditions, neurology rehabilitation, sport injuries and geriatric conditions. During the first few years, she willingly assisted and contributed in the many of the “back of office” operations that was integral in our franchisee system.

Lorraine did her final year practical attachment at DBC Ampang as well as in various government Hospitals and Physical Handicap Rehabilitation Centers in West Malaysia.

Lorraine obtained her Bachelor of Science in Applied Rehabilitation Physiotherapy from Teesside University, UK, and her Diploma in Physiotherapy from Masterskill University College of Health in Cheras, Selangor.

She completed her Kinesio Taping Course KT1, KT2, KT3 and KT4 and is now a fully Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner of the CKPT. She also completed a Manual Therapy Course for Lumbo Pelvic Complex.

She is holding a membership of Malaysian Physiotherapy Association (MMPA).

Nothing satisfies her more than to see her patient’s condition improve and be able to go back to their normal routine / work.

Lim Ming Tak

Lim Ming Tak joined DBC Kuching in 2017 and continues to update his skills and ongoing professional development to achieve optimal outcomes.

Ming Tak completed his Bachelor (HONS) Degree in Physiotherapy from Asia Metropolitan University (AMU) in 2016.

His research project at that time was regarding "Muscle Energy Technique versus Ischemic Compression over Upper Trapezius".

He was trained in various private and government hospitals in West Malaysia covering stroke and post operative rehabilitation, musculoskeletal and geriatric conditions.

Wendy Khoo (Operation Manager)

Wendy has been with DBC Kuching Active Rehabilitation Centre since its incorporation in September 2010.

She oversees the administrative matters and daily operations of the company as well as liaises and reports directly to the Managing Director on all admin and operational matters. Wendy is the go to person for the Team !
